Bulk Uploading Students

Bulk Upload via CSV

For batches of 10+ students, the CSV upload is far faster than creating accounts one-by-one. The whole process — fill template, upload, verify — takes 5 minutes for 30 students.

Step-by-Step

Institute Admin Panel → Students → "Bulk Upload".
Click "Download CSV Template".
Open the template in Google Sheets or Excel.
Fill in one row per student. Required columns: name, phone, test_type. Optional: email.
Save as CSV.
Upload. The system validates every row before importing.
Review the validation summary. Fix errors and re-upload if needed.
Confirm. Accounts are created in bulk.

CSV Format Rules

Phone numbers: include country code with leading + (e.g. +919876543210). Without country code, the system assumes India (+91).
Names: use the format on the student's passport. Capitalise first letter only (e.g. "Arjun Sharma", not "ARJUN SHARMA").
Test type: must be exactly "academic" or "core" (lowercase).
Email: optional. If provided, must be a valid email format.

What Validation Catches

Duplicate phone within the upload OR already in your institute.
Invalid phone format (e.g. missing country code, wrong number of digits).
Invalid test type (anything other than "academic" / "core").
Empty required fields.

Plan Assignment

By default, all bulk-uploaded students get the institute-free-trial plan (5 questions per module). To assign a paid plan, use the bulk action "Activate Plan" after upload.

Practice ID Activation Duration

For paid plans, the system asks you to choose 1, 2, or 3 months. This applies to all students in the bulk upload uniformly. For mixed durations, do separate uploads per duration.

Rollback

If you spot errors after the bulk import, use the Bulk Action "Delete Selected" on the Students list to remove the wrong-uploaded rows. Wallet debits made during activation are refunded back to your wallet.

Sending Credentials

Right after the bulk upload, select all newly-created students and use Bulk Actions → "Send WhatsApp Credentials". They get their login details within minutes.
