How AI Scoring Works

AI-Powered Evaluation

ClearMyPTE uses advanced AI technology to evaluate your Speaking and Writing responses. This provides you with consistent, objective scoring that closely mirrors the real PTE Academic scoring system.

Speaking Evaluation

When you submit a Speaking response, the AI processes your audio recording through several stages:

Transcription — Your speech is converted to text so the AI can compare it against the expected content.
Pronunciation analysis — The AI evaluates how clearly and accurately you pronounce individual words and sounds.
Fluency analysis — Your speaking rhythm, pace, and naturalness are assessed. Hesitations, repetitions, and unnatural pauses are detected.
Content scoring — The AI checks whether your response covers the required content and key points.

Writing Evaluation

Written responses are evaluated across multiple criteria:

Grammar — Sentence structure, verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and overall grammatical accuracy.
Vocabulary — Range and appropriateness of vocabulary used.
Spelling — Accuracy of spelling throughout your response.
Content — Relevance, completeness, and logical organisation of your ideas.
Form — Word count compliance, paragraph structure, and adherence to the question requirements.

Processing Time

AI evaluation uses a queue system to process responses. You may see a "Scoring in Progress" indicator for a short time while your response is being evaluated. This usually completes within a few moments. You will be notified when your score is ready.
