Pay in Your Local Currency

ClearMyPTE now accepts payments in 6 tier-1 currencies with USD as a global fallback for any other country.

Supported Currencies

  • INR — India
  • USD — USA + global default for any unmapped country
  • AUD — Australia + New Zealand
  • GBP — United Kingdom
  • EUR — Ireland + Eurozone
  • CAD — Canada

Outside these 6, the system shows you USD pricing.

How Currency is Detected

We detect your currency in this priority order:

  1. Your saved preference (set when you switch on the pricing page).
  2. Your country code (derived from your phone number at signup).
  3. CloudFlare's detection of your IP location.
  4. Default to USD.

You can override anytime via the currency dropdown on the pricing page.

How Payments Are Processed

  • India (INR): Razorpay or Cashfree (whichever is active).
  • Everywhere else: Stripe-hosted checkout. Supports cards globally, supports SCA / 3D Secure, supports Apple Pay / Google Pay where available.

Tax Handling

  • India: 18% GST included.
  • Australia: 10% GST.
  • New Zealand: 15% GST.
  • UK: 20% VAT.
  • Ireland: 23% VAT.
  • Canada: 5% GST (provincial taxes excluded).
  • USA + others: no tax added.

Cross-Currency Note

For data integrity, you can't directly upgrade between currencies. A user who paid in INR cannot upgrade to AUD pricing without contacting support — this prevents accounting and refund complications. If you change country, please reach out and we'll set up the switch manually.

What's Not Supported (Yet)

  • JPY, KRW, and other zero-decimal currencies (planned for a later release).
  • Crypto payments (no plans).
  • Bank transfer (only via Razorpay in India).

Why This Matters

If you're outside India and were previously paying in INR + foreign exchange fee, you'll now see your real cost in your local currency at checkout. No more surprise FX charges from your bank.
