Booking Your PTE Academic Exam — Step by Step

5-Minute Booking Process

You book PTE Academic directly through Pearson at pearsonpte.com. The whole process takes ~10 minutes and credit card payment is processed immediately.

Step-by-Step

Create a Pearson account at pearsonpte.com using your email + password. Use the same name as on your passport — name mismatches cause check-in rejection.
Verify your email (link in inbox).
Select your test: PTE Academic OR PTE Core OR PTE Academic UKVI (for UK).
Choose your country and city. The system shows nearby Pearson-approved centres.
Pick a date and time slot. Most major cities have multiple slots per day; smaller cities may have weekly availability.
Add free score recipients (up to 5 institutions or visa authorities). Skip and add later if undecided — but post-test sends cost extra.
Enter your payment details. Credit/debit/UPI accepted in most countries.
Confirm and pay. Email confirmation arrives within minutes.

Booking Lead Time

Major cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Sydney, London, Toronto): usually slots available within 7 days.
Tier-2 cities: 1–4 weeks out.
Smaller centres: 4–8 weeks for guaranteed slot.
Peak season (May–August in India, September–December globally): book 4+ weeks ahead.

Picking the Right Date

Allow 2 weeks of focused practice between booking and test date.
Don't book within 7 days of submitting a visa application — score release takes 2 days, so factor that.
Avoid booking right after a holiday — your prep schedule is disrupted.
Morning slots (8–10 am) work for most people — peak focus, less centre noise.

Picking the Right Test Centre

Read recent reviews — some centres have known issues (slow computers, noisy rooms).
Major cities = better infrastructure. If you can travel, do.
Avoid unknown small centres for your first attempt.

Confirmation Email

You'll receive:

Test centre address + Google Maps link.
Your appointment time (arrive 30 minutes early).
Your TRF (Test Reference) number — use this for visa applications.

If You Need to Reschedule or Cancel

More than 14 days before: reschedule free or get 50% refund on cancellation.
Within 14 days: reschedule fee of 50% of test cost; cancellation = no refund.
