How to Reschedule
- Log in to your Pearson account at pearsonpte.com.
- Go to "My Profile" → "View Test Appointments".
- Click "Reschedule" next to the booking.
- Select a new date/time/centre. Available slots show in real time.
- Pay any reschedule fee (within 14 days only).
- Confirmation email arrives within minutes.
How to Cancel
- Same path: My Profile → View Test Appointments.
- Click "Cancel" next to the booking.
- Refund (if applicable) processes within 7–14 business days back to original payment method.
What Counts as "Days Before"
Pearson counts full calendar days from now to your test date. So if your test is on the 20th and today is the 6th, you have 14 days — at midnight on the 7th, you cross into the "less than 14" zone.
When You Should Reschedule (Don't Force a Bad Test)
- You're sick or have a fever — your speaking will suffer.
- Your predicted score is below your target after 2 weeks of practice.
- Major personal disruption (family event, work crisis).
- Your microphone setup at home isn't reliable for practice — ClearMyPTE practice doesn't reflect what your real test would.
When You Should NOT Reschedule
- You're anxious or nervous — that's normal, push through.
- You scored below target on ONE practice — variance is normal.
- It's within 3 days — you can't reschedule anyway, just go.
Special Circumstances
- Medical emergency: Pearson may refund or reschedule outside policy with a doctor's note + supporting docs. Email Pearson support immediately.
- Visa rejection (your other end): not a Pearson concern — no refund.
- Test centre issue (centre cancelled, technical failure during test): Pearson reschedules free or refunds.
- Force majeure (natural disaster, lockdown): Pearson typically refunds or reschedules without fee.
If You Miss Your Test
If you don't show up: full fee forfeited. No exceptions for traffic, oversleeping, or "I forgot the time".
Practical Tip
Set your phone alarm for 4 hours before the test, plan your route the night before, leave 1 hour earlier than needed. Cost of an Uber is nothing vs $200 lost test fee.
Practice on ClearMyPTE
If you've rescheduled, use the extra time to drill weak areas on ClearMyPTE. Re-take a mock exam the week before your new date.
