Two-Device Usage and Active Sessions
Multi-Device Is Supported
One ClearMyPTE account can be signed in on multiple devices simultaneously — your laptop at home, a desktop at your coaching institute, and your phone for quick review on the bus. There is no hard cap on concurrent devices, and switching between them does not log the others out.
How Sessions Are Tracked
Every successful login creates a session record tied to that specific device + browser combination. Each session entry shows:
- Device type (Windows laptop, Mac, Android phone, iPhone, etc.)
- Browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox)
- Approximate location (city, derived from IP)
- Last activity timestamp
- "This device" tag on the session you are currently using
Where to See Active Sessions
- Open your profile
- Click the Security tab
- Scroll to Active Sessions
You will see every session your account currently has open across all devices.
How to Log Out Other Devices
From the same Active Sessions view, you have two options:
- Log out a specific device — click the trash icon next to that session.
- Log out all other sessions — click "Log out other sessions" to end every session except the current one in a single action.
Logged-out devices need to sign in again with WhatsApp OTP, so this is a safe panic-button if you suspect a session was left open somewhere it should not have been.
When to Log Out Other Sessions
- You used a shared computer — at a coaching centre, library, or friend's house — and forgot to log out.
- You sold or gave away an old device.
- You see an unfamiliar location in the active sessions list.
- You changed your phone number and want to invalidate any session tied to the old setup.
Sessions and the Mock Exam
If a mock exam is in progress on one device, do not log out other sessions from a second device — it can interrupt the in-progress mock and lose your responses. Wait until the mock submits and then run the cleanup.
Auto-Expiry
Sessions inactive for 30 days are auto-expired and require fresh OTP login. This catches forgotten sessions on rarely-used devices.
